At Joyce, we specialize in designing and manufacturing premium-quality vinyl sunrooms, replacement windows, and patio doors. Housed in our expansive 165,000 sq. ft. facility, equipped with cutting-edge manufacturing technology, we bring your vision to life, adhering to the highest standards—yours and, of course, Joyce’s.

1955

Brothers Albert and Gustav Schmidt incorporate Joyce Manufacturing and name it after Albert’s wife, Joyce. They use a one-car garage in Cleveland, OH, as their first shop to create awnings.

1962

Business grows, and they upgrade to 5,000 sq. ft. facility. The brothers purchase their first roll former to fabricate awning sheets. Over the next decade, machinery is added and Joyce expands. Aluminum railings, columns, and shutters are added to the product line.

1971

The company purchases property with four buildings in Brook Park, OH, and Joyce introduces a roll-formed flat panoramic roof.

1978

The aluminum sunroom division is launched under 2nd generation family member, Russell Schmidt.

1982

Joyce purchases its largest competitor, the Eagle Awning company.

1986

After joining the company in 1977, Russell Schmidt, the oldest son of Albert, is named President of Joyce Manufacturing.

 

1990

The sunroom division is expanded to begin shipping products to Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Indiana and throughout Ohio. The Oasis Sunroom brand is launched and fuels sunroom growth into 25 states.

1997

After intensive research and development, Joyce introduces the first fully integrated vinyl sunroom.

1999

Construction begins on an 80,000 sq. ft. building in Berea, OH, and is completed in 2000. Over the next 3 years, expansions add another 40,000 sq. ft.

2003

The awning division is sold, making vinyl sunrooms the company’s primary focus.

2008

Graef Windows in Youngstown, OH is acquired, initiating the production of a proprietary line of vinyl replacement windows branded as Joyce Windows.

2016

The Vueline Window and the Arete Patio Door collections are launched.

2021

Joyce completes a 20,000 sq. ft. expansion, enabling in-house manufacturing of insulated glass units. This includes cutting-edge technology such as Cardinal Glass Coatings and a fully automated SuperSpacer IG line

2023

A 25,000 sq. ft. building addition is completed, enhancing the capacity for sunrooms and windows, bringing the total size of the Joyce campus to 165,000 sq. ft.
